South Korean President Han Duck-soo may resign in early May to announce his candidacy for president.

Jin10 reported on April 28 that, according to the Korea News Agency, South Korea's acting President and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo may resign early next month to announce his candidacy for the 21st President of South Korea. Relevant officials from the Prime Minister's Office stated on the 28th that Han Duck-soo will first complete his scheduled agenda by the end of the month, and whether he will resign and participate in the presidential election will be finalized between the 1st and 3rd of next month. Han Duck-soo will host a meeting of state councilors and a regular state council meeting on the 29th. The Prime Minister's Office is coordinating with the U.S. side regarding Han Duck-soo's meeting with U.S. Navy Secretary John F. Kirby on the 30th.
